Gulabi Kantha Trek

Duration: 5 Days Difficulty: Easy to Moderate Max Altitude: ~3,656–4,023 m Best Season: Spring & Autumn (Apr–Jun, Sep–Nov)

Overview

The Gulabi Kantha Trek is a lesser-known gem tucked away in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Sitting at an altitude of around 12,000–13,200 feet, it offers wide-open meadows, dubbed “Pink Meadows”, that glow with rhododendron blooms and wildflowers in the right season, along with panoramic views of peaks like Bandarpoonch, Trishul, Nanda Devi and Swargarohini.

Starting from Hanuman Chatti near Yamunotri, this easy-to-moderate trek takes you through quiet forests, traditional wooden villages and untouched bugyals, making it perfect for those who want a raw Himalayan experience without heavy crowds. Recently recognized as the 2024–25 Trek of the Year by the Uttarakhand government, Gulabi Kantha is quickly emerging as a favourite among nature lovers looking for solitude and big views.
