Overview
The Dodital–Darwa Top trek is a breathtaking Himalayan journey through alpine forests, sacred lakes, and panoramic summit views. Beginning at the peaceful Dodital Lake and culminating at Darwa Top (4,150 m), this route offers unforgettable scenery, rich mountain flora, and an authentic Himalayan experience not easily forgotten.
Trekkers need to be well-prepared with appropriate gear and acclimatization, especially for the challenging ascent to Darwa Top and steep descents. The trail to Dodital is gentler, while the final push to the top rewards you with 360-degree views of Bandarpunch and Swargarohini peaks.
6-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Dehradun → Agoda (Drive)
Drive: 160–185 km
Time: 7–9 hours
Stay: Homestay or campsite
Start with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Agoda, the trek base camp. Settle in and prepare for the days ahead.
Day 2 — Trek to Manjhi
Trek: 6–9 km
Time: 4–6 hours
Stay: Alpine tents
Gentle ascent through oak, pine, and deodar forests with the Assi Ganga river. Camp at Manjhi near a stream.
Day 3 — Trek to Dodital Lake
Trek: 5–6 km
Time: 3–4 hours
Stay: Camp by the lake
Relatively easy walk to the sacred Dodital Lake. Visit the Ganesh Temple on the bank and relax in peaceful surroundings.
Day 4 — Darwa Top & return
Trek: 10 km round-trip
Time: 6–7 hours
Stay: Camp at Dodital
The most challenging and rewarding day. Early start for the steep 5 km ascent to Darwa Top — 360° views of Bandarpunch and Swargarohini. Descend back to Dodital for the night.
Day 5 — Descend to Agoda
Trek: 15 km
Time: 6–7 hours
Stay: Homestay or campsite
Descend through forests and past Manjhi. Mostly downhill; overnight in Agoda.
Day 6 — Return to Dehradun
Drive back
Drive from Agoda to Dehradun. Trip ends.
